Tottenham have lodged a bid worth around £52 million for AS Roma star Cengiz Under, according to reports in Italy.

Under joined Roma in the summer of 2017 despite reported interest from Spurs and other clubs across Europe.

In 12 appearances so far this season, the striker has scored three goals and provided five assists in all competitions.

And according to Italian outlet CalcioMercato – in conjunction with Rai Sport – Tottenham have reignited their interest in Under.

The 21-year-old is understood to be the subject of a £52 million bid from Spurs, which would smash the London club’s transfer record.

Under can play either out wide or through the middle, an attribute that might be alluring to Mauricio Pochettino – the Argentinian is known to value versatility.

Tottenham are in need of a centre forward to provide capable cover and competition for Harry Kane, something Vincent Janssen and Fernando Llorente have failed to do in recent seasons.

Under would certainly provide a different kind of option, although Spurs have bigger priorities in upcoming transfer windows, notably in central midfield.

  1. You really should be banned from writing.
1/.Spurs would never pay such a sum for a player.
2/.Spurs could have bought him for £15M 16 months ago and chose not to, and you think they would pay this sum now.
    Pathetic and appalling reporting.
Might as well say that Yeovil will win the Premiership soon.

  2. I agree. People will do anything these days to suck a dollar out of any unsuspecting punter.
People like this use the unsuspected as prey and cannon fodder to their lazy and greedy ways . Shame on you for publishing such fake news. Where are your facts buddy?
