Wayne Rooney has defended his inclusion in England’s squad to face the USA in an international friendly on Thursday, revealing he hopes Harry Kane receives similar treatment in ten years.
There has been plenty of controversy around Rooney’s recall but Gareth Southgate believes the former captain’s appearance will show young players they will be recognised for their international careers in the future.
