Tottenham welcome Southampton to Wembley in the Premier League on Wednesday night, and Mauricio Pochetttino has a number of decisions to make regarding his team selection.
The Londoners will be hoping to bounce back from Sunday’s disappointing north London derby defeat at Arsenal, but Pochettino will know he must consider player fitness ahead of a busy festive schedule.
Jan Vertonghen is suspended, so Toby Alderweireld should come back into the team to partner Juan Foyth. We’ll almost certainly to see changes at full-back, too, with Kieran Trippier and Danny Rose replacing Serge Aurier and Ben Davies.
Moussa Sissoko has started in the last few matches and might be given a rest here. Harry Winks is likely to come in for the Frenchman.
As for the attack, Dele Alli has started in all three of Spurs’ recent big games – against Chelsea, Inter Milan and Arsenal respectively – so it’s probably his turn for a rest. Lucas Moura will start as Erik Lamela has a thigh injury.
