Dele Alli has revealed Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard was his first footballing hero.
The Tottenham midfielder was speaking to Soccer AM as part of the show’s ‘First’ series of videos.
Alli grew up watching Gerrard captain Liverpool and England. The Rangers manager clearly influenced the way Alli plays as a central midfielder.
The 22-year-old was also asked about the first time he cried at Spurs. He said it was when he received a red card in the Europa League in 2016/17.
