No, the right-back hasn’t suddenly transformed into one of the best young attacking midfielders in Europe.
But Trippier seems to have mastered one of Alli’s favourite skills: the nutmeg.
The England defender poked the ball through the legs of Alex Iwobi during Spurs’ 2-0 win over Arsenal in the EFL Cup on Wednesday night.
It’s worth noting Trippier was heavily criticised for a similar moment against Wolves earlier this season, which led to Juan Foyth conceding one of two penalties.
But when there isn’t much risk of giving the ball away in a dangerous area, the nutmeg is a joyous sight to behold. Watch below.
