Tottenham are interested in signing Roma striker Edin Dzeko, according to reports in Italy.

Dzeko made almost 200 appearances for Manchester City between 2011 and 2015 before joining Roma, where he has emerged as one of Serie A’s most clinical strikers.

However, the 32-year-old has only scored two league goals so far this season after finding the net 45 times across the two previous campaigns.

Chelsea came close to signing Dzeko last January but a deal fell through. Now, reports suggests a move to England could be back on.

Italian outlet Repubblica.it claims Spurs want Dzeko after the confirmation Harry Kane will be sidelined until March with an ankle injury.

Fernando Llorente and Vincent Janssen could leave Tottenham by the end of the month and Son Heung-min is away with South Korea at the Asian Cup, leaving Mauricio Pochettino short of strikers.

West Ham United are also said to be keen on Dzeko, who could reunite with his former manager Manuel Pellegrini at the London Stadium.

Dzeko would be a good addition to Spurs’ squad, but a deal will probably be expensive and it’s difficult to see the club splashing out on a 32-year-old.
