Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Joshua Onomah is a transfer target for Hoffenheim and Borussia Monchengladbach, according to the Sun.

Onomah is currently on loan at Championship club Sheffield Wednesday. He has provided three appearances in 12 appearances across all competitions so far this term.

The 21-year-old began to break into the Spurs first team under Mauricio Pochettino, and there were suggestions he could be the next product of the academy to break into the senior set-up.

However, Pochettino found it difficult to find a place for Onomah in the squad and eventually sent him out on loan to Aston Villa last season.

He remains in the Championship, but Onomah could be playing in Germany soon if reports are to be believed.

The Sun claims two Bundesliga clubs, Hoffenheim and Monchengladbach, are monitoring Onomah’s situation. He has just 18 months left on his contract.

Another interesting thing to note in the Sun’s report: Tottenham were apparently considering recalling Onomah from his loan earlier this month because of the current injury crisis.

The fact that they didn’t recall Onomah probably doesn’t bode well for the midfielder’s future at the club.
