Monaco have agreed a deal to sign Tottenham Hotspur winger Georges-Kevin Nkoudou on loan until the end of the season, according to BBC Sport.

Nkoudou will undergo a medical on Thursday, but there is no option for Monaco to sign him on a permanent deal in the summer.

The Frenchman started against Crystal Palace in the FA Cup on Sunday after impressing from the bench at Fulham earlier this month.

But a poor display at Selhurst Park failed to boost his chances of staying in the team, and he will now return to his home country.

The news broke just before Spurs’ Premier League clash with Watford at Wembley.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side trailed 1-0 until the final 10 minutes when goals from Son Heung-min and Fernando Llorente sealed all three points for the hosts.

Llorente had also been expected to secure an exit this month, but Harry Kane’s injury has seen the Spaniard earn a bigger role in the squad.

He scored his second goal in three games against Watford and now looks set to stay until his contract expires in the summer.

  1. lorentes problem is he can only seem to score with his head he has no eye coordination with his feet or legs.?. As his miss in front of goal tonight before scoring later with his head demonstrates.
Even when he misses he tries to score with his head we need a better quality striker than him.
For example higuan who Chelsea fc have just signed on loan until the end of this season who is world class as record of goals shows.

  2. We need to stop pissing about with second rate strikers and buy a proven high scoring world class player. If lorente and jansen were off the wage bill it would save spurs 140 thousand pounds a week. This could then be used to pay a top quality striker of someone like higuans ilk.

  3. We cannot keep relying on kane we need a decent back up striker all the other top clubs have this. This is why we don’t win anything we need a trophy to instill a wining mentality at the club any trophy. Not just settle for a top 4 finish and a long run in the champions league for financial gain the supporters need and expect more its not good enough.

  4. Looking at all the chances we have missed recently, I cannot help thinking that Danny Rose would have taken some of them. It has gone through my mind many times, that it would be worth giving Danny the number nine shirt for a game or two. I believe he would surprise many people. Furthermore, he could not be worse than poor old Fernando. Maybe we have secret weapon staring us in the face. How about it Poch?
