Real Madrid are prepared to offer Gareth Bale in part exchange to sign Tottenham Hotspur star Christian Eriksen this summer, according to the Express.

Bale has struggled for form this season and all does not seem to be well between the Welshman and his teammates.

After scoring a penalty against Levante last month, Bale shrugged off Lucas Vazquez, who had attempted to celebrate with the former Spurs man.

Another tepid display in Madrid’s 1-0 defeat to Barcelona at the Bernabeu on Saturday – he was jeered off by the home fans – has added further question marks to Bale’s future in Spain.

And according to the Express, Madrid could include the 29-year-old in a summer bid for Eriksen.

The report claims Madrid will offer around £50 million plus Bale for the Dane, who is out of contract at the end of next season.

Eriksen’s recent form would make it easy to suggest Tottenham should accept such an offer, but it’s not as simple as that.

There may be no truth to the deal anyway, but if there is, there is no guarantee Bale would be open to a return to Spurs – plus he has proved to be injury prone in recent years.

Agreeing fresh terms with Eriksen and getting the playmaker back in form would be the best course of action for the Londoners.

  1. Exactly!! The reality is there is not even a 50 million offer without Bale for Eriksen on the table . If they or another BIG club wanted him they would have him by now. They know he is over hyped and that is why Spurs got him for 13 million . When do we ever pulll off a complete steal in Europe if the big guns are interested . He was a good buy though at that price and has some decent talent and a great football brain. He is not however willing to get physically involved or truly do any defending. His upside only out weighs his downside against poor opposition or teams that do not play any kind of press. Free kick taking abysmal 4.9 percent success rate.
