Tottenham Hotspur held talks with Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot over a potential summer move, according to the Sun.

However, Manchester United have now joined the race to Rabiot, who has also apparently spoken to Barcelona, Arsenal and Chelsea.

Rabiot is out of contract at the end of the season and has barely played for PSG this term as a result of refusing to sign a new deal.

Barcelona were heavily linked with a move for the Frenchman last year but the La Liga giants appear to have moved on by agreeing to sign Ajax midfielder Frenkie de Jong instead.

Subsequently, Spurs were mooted as a potential destination once again in the January transfer window, but nothing came of it.

The Sun claims Tottenham did indeed hold talks with Rabiot, but the 23-year-old is said to be demanding £200,000 a week.

It looks like Mauricio Pochettino will have to look elsewhere for a new central midfielder this summer.

Spurs certainly need to recruit in that position following Mousa Dembele’s exit and with Victor Wanyama seemingly set to leave at the end of the season.
