Tottenham fell to a fourth defeat in five Premier League games on Sunday with a 2-1 loss to Liverpool at Anfield.

Roberto Firmino gave Liverpool the lead early on but Lucas Moura equalised for Spurs after the break.

The visitors were the better side in the second half and had chances to win it but eventually succumbed to a late Toby Alderweireld own goal.

Here’s how each player rated.

Hugo Lloris, 4 – Should have done better for the winner but instead provided another costly mistake in a big game.

Toby Alderweireld, 6 – Cleared up behind Davinson Sanchez several times. Very unfortunate for the own goal.

Davinson Sanchez, 5 – Let Liverpool’s attackers get in behind him too easily and was hooked to change the formation.

Jan Vertonghen, 6 – His passing was sometimes loose and he didn’t get forward enough when at left-back. Solid defensively.

Kieran Trippier, 6 – Mixed day in which he gave Andy Robertson too much space in the first half but did well for the equaliser.

Moussa Sissoko, 6 – Drove Spurs forward brilliantly but his rash shot when through on goal was sadly indicative of his poor finishing.

Dele Alli, 6 – Looked to make things happen throughout. His finishing could have been more accurate.

Christian Eriksen, 6 – Found plenty of room down the right in the second half and helped Spurs gain control. His deliveries were inconsistent, though.

Danny Rose, 5 – Got forward as often as possible – sometimes playing in the front line – but his final ball was mostly dreadful.

Lucas Moura, 7 – Looked dangerous from the off and was rewarded with the equaliser, which he took well.

Harry Kane, 6 – Not involved enough but made his moments count including a superb pass in the build-up to the goal.
