Just days after signing Tanguy Ndombele it has been claimed that Tottenham are targeting another Lyon employee.

This time it’s not a player that Spurs want to sign, but Lyon’s Head of Scouting Florian Maurice. L’Equipe report that Spurs are interested in recruiting the man who was instrumental in bringing Ndombele to Lyon from Amiens.

With Tottenham having just had to break their transfer record to sign a player that cost Lyon just €8m plus add-ons in 2018, it’s no surprise that they’re keen to bring in the scout that identified such a talent. Lyon have also sold Ferland Mendy to Real Madrid this summer for a potential €53m, after buying him from Le Havre for €6m in 2017.

Maurice has been at Lyon since 2009, but has seen his role marginalised recently. The club president Jean-Michel Aulas has appointed Juninho Pernambucano as Director of Football and then added to the Brazilian influence at Lyon, when he made Sylvinho their new manager. Spurs and Monaco are among the clubs looking to capitalise upon any potential discontent.
