No club has come close to meeting Real Betis’ asking price for Tottenham target Giovani Lo Celso, according to reports in Spain.

Spurs have been heavily linked with Lo Celso in recent weeks after initial reports claimed the Londoners had seen a first bid turned down for the midfielder. Betis later signed Nabil Fekir from Lyon, intensifying the speculation around Lo Celso’s future.

However, Spanish outlet Mucho Deporte claims Lo Celso will return to training with Betis on Tuesday and there is a belief he and Fekir could play together next season. That’s because the club is apparently yet to receive a suitable offer for Lo Celso.

Betis are said to value the 23-year-old at €75 million, meaning Tottenham would have to break their transfer record for the second time this summer following the signing of French midfielder Tanguy Ndombele from Lyon.

Lo Celso has missed the majority of Betis’ pre-season campaign as he has been recuperating after taking part at the Copa America with Argentina. Now he has returned to his club, perhaps we will discover more about the possibility of him becoming a Spurs player in the coming days.

  1. Daniel Levy is playing games giving Pochetino hopes yet playing to the point he will lose the players.

Of course he wont mind one bit forcing Pochetino to work on an even more depleted squad

Forget Clarke !! We have bought one player full stop !!!!

Levy is pretending buying players !!!!!!

  2. The
Lint is Levy is playing his game again which normally back fires!
Offer low , hope no one else comes in and he hopes he gets a bargain!
Or spurs end up with panic buys and players that are not suitable quality that they have to seek later and loose money!
It’s about time Levy realised clubs know his game they are not as stupid as he hopes!
It’s time to pay up get the players
Ouch wants and the club needs, sort out the contracts for those still at the club, so that we all know we are moving forward because at the moment we are not really holding our own on the transfer market!
We all know where spurs must have quality squad players including cove, but at present again it’s missing!!
Lets not go another season without quality cover for Kane etc!!

  3. A leopard never changes its spots and Levy’s early purchase of N’Dombele is a one off. Those who thought that times were changing, that Levy was going to back MP and Spurs were going to conclude their business early are seriously deluded.Last summer the fiasco with Jack Grealish lasted all summer and came to nothing.Looks like it will happen again.
Apparently Zidane is furious that Bale is staying put. What odds on he resigning at RM again and MP taking over…..??????…..

  4. Same o Same o been watching everyday like a Doughnut in anticipation for these players, dear lord buy Lo Celso already they all start with a New hunger and we can stop being the nearly Club….Although in my eyes they are THE CLUB!!!!…

  5. I’m not prepared to spend £111 per kit for my kids if Levy isn’t prepared to buy the players capable of winning us silverware! It works both ways!
