Tottenham have seen a bid rejected for Rennes wonderkid Eduardo Camavinga, according to reports in France.

Earlier this month we relayed reports suggesting Spurs, Arsenal and Manchester City had sent scouts to watch Camavinga in a shock 2-1 win for Rennes over PSG. The 16-year-old put in a mature performance and provided the assist for the winning goal.

Since that display, there have been plenty of rumours about interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs. And now, French outlet L’Equipe claims Tottenham and Arsenal have made formal offers for Camavinga – but both clubs have seen their bids turned down by Rennes.

The report goes on to say that Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund have all had approaches dismissed, which goes to show the level of club interested in the teenager.

Spurs aren’t immediately desperate for a new central midfielder following the record arrival of Tanguy Ndombele, so they needn’t be despondent about their first offer for Camavinga being rejected.

Of course, interest from the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona ultimately means Tottenham will probably miss out on the Angolan starlet altogether.
