Real Madrid ‘have given no indication’ they will make a move for Tottenham star Christian Eriksen before the European transfer window closes, according to the Mirror.

Eriksen is out of contract at the end of the season and has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid. However, his situation is becoming more and more unclear as the transfer deadline approaches.

Clubs in Europe can still sign players until September 2, but the Mirror claims Madrid have not made an approach for Eriksen and are currently showing no signs of doing so in the coming days.

The report claims Eriksen is only interested in moving to Spain, but it looks like Real and Barcelona have left things too late if they are keen on the Dane. It is believed Spurs are willing to discuss terms on a new £200,000-a-week contract with Eriksen, but his representatives will not even enter negotiations, meaning an agreement is extremely unlikely.

With that in mind, it looks like Eriksen will remain at Tottenham until January, when he will be able to sign a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club. Indeed, Spurs may well end up losing the 27-year-old on a free transfer next summer.

  2. I reckon he’s been tapped up and has a back door agreement to sign with a club for free next season.
We need rid of him, even if we send him to train with the kids, I mean the under 18s!
The whole team looks lethargic and disinterested this season, it is weird, something we don’t know about had happened. Notice Jan’s black eye? I wonder if that has something to do with it?
