Tottenham remain interested in signing James Maddison from Leicester City, according to talkSPORT.

Maddison is set to line up against Spurs on Saturday when the Foxes welcome Mauricio Pochettino’s side for the Premier League lunch-time kick-off. The playmaker has been linked with Tottenham in the past, recently admitting he had to ask his agent if talk of a move to north London was true during his days with Coventry City.

Leicester managed to keep hold of Maddison despite some speculation that never really got out of the rumour mill during the summer. But talkSPORT claims Spurs and Manchester United remain keen on the 22-year-old and could eventually revive their interest.

Last season, Maddison was the only player in the Premier League to create 100 chances. He is particularly impressive from set-pieces, though his decision making in open play could do with some work. He is young, however, and has plenty of potential to improve, which is probably what appeals to Pochettino if Tottenham’s interest is genuine.

It will be intriguing to see how Maddison gets on against Spurs this weekend. He is yet to score this season, but the Londoners will be wary of the threat he poses.
