And an hour before kick-off, Spurs gave official confirmation that captain Lloris will not play, with Paulo Gazzaniga stepping in between the sticks.
The Frenchman misses out because his wife has given birth.
Dele Alli has also been left out despite playing for over an hour against Olympiacos in midweek upon his return from a hamstring injury. Sanchez played 90 minutes in Greece.
#thfc Told no fresh injuries to Sanchez and Dele, just rested after playing in Athens shortly after returning from injury.

Ben Davies, Christian Eriksen and Lucas Moura have all dropped to the bench, with Erik Danny Rose, Erik Lamela and Son Heung-min all coming in.
Serge Aurier has also returned to the line-up.
