It was far from a dream debut for Troy Parrott – but the Tottenham striker’s message was clear after their Carabao Cup defeat at Colchester United.

After a summer of excitement and anticipation about the teenager, he was handed his Tottenham debut by Mauricio Pochettino at the JobServe Community Stadium.
But with no recognised creative midfielder in the Spurs side, it proved to be a difficult evening for the forward, who had just two half-chances in the game, skewing side in the opening period before firing over from Eric Dier’s cross in the second-half.

Parrott by no means looked out of place, but with penalties looming, Pochettino turned to his senior players, introducing both Christian Eriksen and Heung Min Son just past the hour mark which spelled the end of Parrott’s night.
Despite having his night cut short and then Tottenham losing the tie on penalties, Parrott’s message was clear on Instagram.
“Time to bounce back #COYS”, is what he posted on his story the morning after the game.
