Tottenham have turned AC Milan away after the Serie A giants made an approach for Serge Aurier, according to reports in Italy.

Aurier was linked with Milan towards the end of the summer transfer window but a deal failed to materialise. He has since been reintegrated into Mauricio Pochettino’s squad but his performances have been questionable.

After a fine display in the 4-0 win over Crystal Palace last month, Aurier was sent off against Southampton and almost cost Spurs the points. He returned to the starting line-up in the humiliating defeat to Bayern and was all at sea throughout.

However, it seems Tottenham want to hold onto the Ivorian, at least for the time being. Italian outlet Tuttosport claims the Londoners turned Milan away recently. The Rossoneri are now said to be looking at other targets.

Right-back remains a problem position for Spurs, and there is a chance Pochettino will enter the market for a new acquisition in January – unless he trusts Juan Foyth to play on the right after the international break.

Meanwhile, Aurier’s future looks more and more uncertain regardless of Tottenham rebuffing Milan.
