Dele Alli was back to his best as Tottenham beat West Ham United on Saturday.
The attacking midfielder played a vital role in the first two goals, setting up Heung-Min Son for the opener and producing an incredible flick in the build-up to Spurs’ second.
Eric Dier’s pass was slightly behind Alli, who fell to the ground but somehow managed to put Son through down the left to set up Lucas Moura for a simple finish.
It was a special moment from Alli and a fine example of the uniqueness he offers to Tottenham. Arguably, no other player in the squad would have been able to execute that particular piece of skill.
In a match full of hints suggesting Spurs are set for an immediate improvement under José Mourinho, Alli’s flick was the best of the lot and the fans have been celebrating it all day.
Later in the evening, Tottenham’s official Twitter account shared a video of the moment with the caption: “Unreal, @dele_official!”
