Tottenham are in talks over a surprise move to re-sign former striker Fernando Llorente on loan, according to reliable Italian journalist  Tancredi Palmeri.

Spurs have been linked with a host of strikers to replace the injured Harry Kane, who is expected to miss around three months of action with a hamstring problem and the latest of those is the 34-year-old Spaniard, who is currently plying his trade in Italy with Napoli after leaving the north London outfit at the end of last season after his two-year deal expired.

Llorente has scored four goals in 21 appearances for the Serie A side – including one against Liverpool in the Champions League – but has started three matches in all competitions.

The veteran frontman played a crucial role in Tottenham’s incredible run to the Champions League final last term  and could return to the capital on loan for the rest of the season, according to several reports in Italy.

  1. Correct! Only time he did what he was bought for was against Ajax where he was too much for De Ligt and Blind had to move from kicking Lucas. LM then free as a bird.
