Danny Rose will join Newcastle United on loan for the remainder of the season, according to Matt Law of the Daily Telegraph.

The 29-year-old left-back has made just one Premier League start for Tottenham since the arrival of Jose Mourinho in November and was reported to have been involved in a training ground bust-up with the Portuguese after he was left out of the squad for the game against Watford earlier this month.

The report from the Telegraph says that Newcastle will pay Spurs £2m for Rose – and have an option to make the deal permanent when the loan ends in the summer.

Rose has said in previous interviews that he would see out the remaining 18 months of his current Tottenham contract, but after playing just 279 minutes in all competitions under Mourinho, his Spurs career looks to be over.

If Rose does move to St James’ Park before Friday’s deadline, he’ll be hoping to go straight into the Newcastle squad for their huge Premier League game against Norwich on Friday.
