Tottenham have produced a number of impressive comebacks in recent seasons, no more so than their Champions League semi-final win over Ajax last May, but does anyone remember those last 37 minutes at the Stadium of Light in April 2001, which helped Glen Hoddle’s men claim a rare Premier League away victory?
Spurs found themselves two-down inside the opening 12 minutes thanks to goals from Kevin Kilbane and Niall Quinn. However, they came out for the second-half a completely different side and reduced after Stephen Clemence goal tucked home at the near-post following some neat build-up.
Time looked to be running out for Tottenham, but Gary Doherty had other ideas, notching twice in the final quarter to earn Spurs a 3-2 victory in the North East.
