Tammy Abraham has labelled Tottenham talisman Harry Kane the “best striker in the world”, claiming the England captain’s ability in training is “crazy”.

The pair have played together for England with Abraham deputising for Kane up front when needed. Abraham has scored 13 Premier League goals to Kane’s 11 so far this season, though of course the Spurs star has been sidelined through injury since the turn of the year.

When asked about Kane in a recent interview, Abraham did not hold back in his praise for his international teammate.

“Best striker in the world. Just training with Harry, it’s crazy. drill after drill after drill,” Abraham said (via Metro).

“Even when we just have little things like set pieces before a game, the ball coming to him in the box, everyone is just chilling, relaxing, and Harry Kane just bangs it top corner.

“You’re just looking at him like ‘woah’.”

It’s always nice to see footballers put club rivalries aside to compliment players they genuinely appreciate. Abraham has clearly learned plenty from Kane in England training, and Gareth Southgate will be glad to have an able deputy for the team’s primary goal scorer.

Of course, it’s unlikely Kane and Abraham will every play alongside one another regularly with Southgate preferring the likes of Raheem Sterling, Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho to play off his captain.
