Jermain Defoe has revealed that Peter Crouch is his favourite strike partner, describing their understanding as “special.”
The ex-Tottenham duo played together for six months at Portsmouth before Crouch joined Spurs in the summer of 2009, where they’d rekindle their excellent partnership at White Hart Lane, helping the club finish inside the top-four for the first time.
Defoe, who was a guest on Sky Sports’ The Football Show on Monday morning and admitted that Wayne Rooney – who he played for England – was the best footballer that he’s played with, but Crouchie was his favourite.
