Lille director of football Luis Campos says he has had “no contacts with other clubs” amid talk he is set to join Jose Mourinho at Tottenham.

Earlier this week, French outlet RMC Sport (as relayed by Football London) reported Campos had made a request for his Lille contract to be cancelled. But Sport Witness has perused the Portuguese press and found out what is really going on.

Sport Witness’ write-up first cites a Portuguese outlet called RTP, which recently claimed Campos will leave Lille to join his countryman Mourinho in north London. However, Sport Witness then relays a story from Record, in which there is a direct quote on the situation from Campos.

The report says the 55-year-old could now stay at Lille if changes are made at the Ligue 1 club. Campos is quoted as saying: “I have no contacts with any other clubs.”

Of course, that doesn’t completely rule out a move to Spurs. There could be contact between the parties in the future, and there are clearly tensions between Campos and Lille if changes are being requested.

Only time will tell if Tottenham can get themselves a new director of football in the coming months.
