Tottenham fell to a 2-1 friendly defeat against Norwich City on Friday, which might be perceived as far from ideal preparation for next week’s crunch clash with Manchester United.
Steven Bergwijn provided the assist for Erik Lamela’s opener but Spurs fell to two late goals at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, where they will host United next Friday.
However, Jose Mourinho has played down the loss, calling the game a “training session” rather than a proper match.
The Spurs boss revealed he made a number of changes in the third and fourth quarters of the unusual fixture, so that might explain why the hosts collapsed towards the end.

"It was a good training session. We needed minutes, competition, intensity."
