Conflicting reports regarding the future of Tottenham midfielder Tanguy midfielder have emerged.

On Thursday evening, the Guardian broke a story claiming Spurs have opened talks with Inter Milan over a move for Ndombele. The very reliable Fabrizio Romano co-wrote that Inter are hoping for a cut-price deal of £45 million for the former Lyon star.

Tottenham are apparently holding out for more than that, but if other reports are to be believed, it sounds like Tottenham don’t want to let Ndombele leave at all.

Indeed, the London Evening Standard and Sky Sports (Transfer Centre, 9:01am) says Spurs have no intention of selling the 23-year-old. Both outlets suggests the Londoners want to give Ndombele another chance to prove himself after a difficult debut season.

So, who to believe?

Thinking about it, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Tottenham have spoken to other clubs to determine the kind of price they are able to get for Ndombele. And having discovered they will struggle to recoup the club record fee they paid for him a year ago, Spurs are now less eager to sell.

That’s just one possibility. We’re sure to hear more on this in the coming days.
