AC Milan have joined the race to sign Tottenham defender Serge Aurier, according to reliable Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.

We previously relayed a story from Sky Sports that the right-back was attracting attention from French outfit Monaco – and now Romano is reporting that Milan, who finished 6th in Serie A this season, have started talks with the 27-year-old – who is their main right-back target this summer.

Aurier made 42 appearances for Spurs this term – with only Lucas Moura turning out more – but his inconsistencies and defensive lapses have left Jose Mourinho in the market for a new right-back – a story reported by the Evening Standard’s Dan Kilpatrick last week.

Elsewhere, Sky Sports Italy’s Gianluca Di Marzio is suggesting that the Tottenham value the defender at around €12m-€15m.

Aurier has two years remaining on his Tottenham deal, but his days in north London appear to be numbered, even though Mourinho has no senior right-backs at the club – with Kyle Walker-Peters heavily linked with a permanent move to Southampton following on from a successful loan stint from January and Juan Foyth on Leeds’ radar, according to The Sun.
