Jose Mourinho has personally contacted Bournemouth striker about the possibility of a move to Tottenham this summer, according to Football Insider.

The 28-year-old frontman still has three-years remaining on the contract he signed with the Cherries last July, but told his Bournemouth teammates that he wants to remain in the Premier League following their relegation to the Championship last month in a bid to enhance his chances of adding to his four England caps.

The Insider believe that Spurs boss Jose Mourinho is desperate for an understudy to Harry Kane and the ex-Coventry City frontman is one of his top targets this summer.

And after weeks of speculation with Wilson, the Portuguese has reportedly contacted the Bournemouth man personally, whose interested in becoming Kane’s back-up, especially with the prospect of playing European football for the first time in his career – with Spurs set to enter the Europa League in the second qualifying round next month.

Despite a number of long-term injuries, Wilson boasts an impressive Premier League record of 41 goals in 126 appearances, although the Daily Mail are reporting this morning that the relegated outfit won’t the striker leave on the cheap.
