Paris Saint-Germain are ready to end their pursuit of Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli, according to the Telegraph.

Last week, the Telegraph initially reported that PSG had opened talks to sign Alli on a season-long loan following Gareth Bale’s return to Spurs. Alli was left out of the squad that travelled to Southampton last weekend, raising doubts over his future.

The 24-year-old was back in the starting line-up in the Europa League on Thursday night, but he failed to impress and was eventually taken off for Harry Kane, who scored Tottenham’s third goal in a 3-1 victory.

However, it seems Alli could be set to stay at Spurs beyond the transfer deadline on October 5. The Telegraph is now claiming PSG are ‘preparing to pull out of negotiations’ for Alli, who looks increasingly likely to stay put.

That said, there is still time for things to change before the transfer window closes. If Alli does not feature against Newcastle United this weekend, he could seek answers about his future from Jose Mourinho and Daniel Levy.
