Tottenham’s starting line-up for Saturday evening’s Premier League clash with Manchester City has been confirmed.

As expected, Serge Aurier starts at right-back after Matt Doherty tested positive for coronavirus and was forced to self-isolate. The rest of the back four is made up of Toby Alderweireld, Eric Dier and Sergio Reguilon, with Hugo Lloris between the sticks.

The most surprising news is that Steven Bergwijn, who has been struggling to even make the bench in league games of late, is in the line-up ahead of Gareth Bale.

Bergwijn was sent home from international duty by the Netherlands because of fitness problems, but he must have impressed Jose Mourinho in recent training sessions. Bale is on the bench but could come on to join Harry Kane and Son Heung-min up front at some point.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Moussa Sissoko and Tanguy Ndombele start in midfield. There is once again no place for Dele Alli in the squad, nor is there a spot for Davinson Sanchez.
