Giovani Lo Celso is facing another month on the sidelines following a hamstring injury sustained before Christmas, according to the Evening Standard.
The Argentine hasn’t featured since coming off four minutes into the second-half of Spurs’ 2-0 defeat to Leicester City back on 20 December.
Lo Celso has already missed 10 matches in the Premier League, League Cup and FA Cup, although Jose Mourinho initially expected the attacking midfielder to return in January.
However, Lo Celso is now facing the prospect of being absent from further fixtures against Chelsea, West Brom, Manchester City in the Premier League, plus the FA Cup fifth-round tie at Everton and even the Europa League last 32 games later this month.
Lo Celso’s absence could open the door for Dele Alli, who remained at Tottenham despite being strongly linked with a move to PSG for the majority of the January transfer window.
But the England midfielder has missed Spurs’ previous three matches through injury, and will be hoping to return against Chelsea on Thursday.
Have we signed the new lamela, pity we haven’t got rid of the original.
