Tottenham are interested in signing Sampdoria starlet Mikkel Damsgaard but face competition from Juventus, according to reports in Italy.

Damsgaard, a 20-year-old winger, has made 20 appearances in Serie A so far this season, scoring two goals and registering four assists for Sampdoria, who currently sit 10th in the table.

Italian outlet Tuttosport claims Damsgaard is being watched closely by Juventus, but Spurs are also said to be keen on the Denmark international.

It is believed Jose Mourinho is especially fond of Damsgaard, and the article mentions that Mourinho’s rivalry with Juventus means the Tottenham boss could be eager to stop the Serie A champions from getting their man by bringing him to north London instead.

The report goes on to suggest Sampdoria value their prodigy at around €20 million, which should be affordable for Spurs if they think he is worth that kind of money.

Mourinho already has plenty of wide attacking midfielders at his disposal, but some could move on next summer if Tottenham decide to freshen up the squad.
