Tottenham face Burnley in the Premier League this weekend aiming to build on Wednesday’s convincing Europa League victory over Wolfsberger.

Most notably, Dele Alli and Gareth Bale performed brilliantly in midweek and will be hoping to stay in the starting line-up for Sunday – just two of the big team selection decisions Jose Mourinho has to make.

However, we think only Bale will be handed a start, with Alli returning to the bench.

That’s because there is a good chance Mourinho will go with Erik Lamela in the central attacking midfield role instead of Alli. Lamela was taken off on the hour on Wednesday, likely because he will start against Burnley.

The Argentine will provide support for a front three of Bale, Son Heung-min and Harry Kane. Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Tanguy Ndombele will start in midfield, so Alli will have to settle for a place on the bench.

In defence, Serge Aurier and Sergio Reguilon should return in the full-back positions, while Eric Dier and Toby Alderweireld may be rewarded for their midweek clean sheet. Hugo Lloris will also come back in between the sticks.

  1. Finally a good attacking front lot of Kane Son Bale and Lamela.
Lamela is the tricky dribbler. He causes havoc to markers n can score. Bale is finally showing his special attacking n lethal left foot with accuracy. His lethal left foot is one of d best.Hodgberg is a future captain.Dembelle is trickery too in the centre. He can unlock defences.
A more balanced n more effective right TEAM unit then.

  2. For me the attacking line-up against Burnley is good. Although I am a big Deli fan, Lamela deserves his place, his bite, dribbling and effort are a godsend
