Tottenham are interested in signing Lyon centre-back Joachim Andersen this summer, according to Football London.

Andersen is currently on loan at Fulham and has impressed despite the Cottagers’ struggles this season.

He has looked particularly adept at bringing the ball out from defence, something Spurs could do with – they have looked shaky in possession at the back throughout the campaign.

Football London claims Andersen, who joined Lyon from Sampdoria in 2019, is one of several centre-backs Tottenham are keeping tabs on.

However, there are concerns over negotiations with Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Aulas, who held out for a huge fee for Tanguy Ndombele two years ago.

The fact Andersen has impressed in the Premier League means Aulas may be able to command a big price for the Denmark international.

At just 24, Andersen would be a sensible signing for the present and the future, functioning as a possible partner and a long-term replacement for Toby Alderweireld.

Alderweireld has been in and out of team for a while now, as have Davinson Sanchez and Eric Dier – perhaps one of them will leave to make room for Andersen.

  1. Spurs really need two central defenders in place of Dier and Sanchez because they are useless defender as well as Davies and Aurier
Spurs also really need new two full back.in place of them
