Harry Kane has given Tottenham a major injury boost ahead of the Carabao Cup final against Manchester City on Sunday.

The Daily Mail revealed that the striker trained alone on the grass at Spurs’ Hotspur Way training base in Enfield for the first time since sustaining an ankle problem at Everton last Friday.

Kane missed the victory over Southampton on Wednesday, with interim boss Ryan Mason saying that the England captain was taking things “day by day” in a bid to prove his fitness for the game at Wembley in three days time.

The report believes that whilst Kane didn’t train with the rest of his Tottenham teammates, Mason is hopeful that he’ll link-up with the squad on Friday or Saturday and be available to face Pep Guardiola’s team.

Mason is expected to speak to the press on Friday afternoon, where he’ll provide an update on Kane’s progression and chances of being fit.
