Jose Mourinho has made a swift return to management having been officially confirmed as the new Roma head coach.
The Portuguese, who was relieved of his duties at Tottenham just 15 days ago, will begin work with the Italian giants at the beginning of the 2021-2022 campaign.
It’ll see him to return to Italy for the first time since leading Inter Milan to the treble 11 years ago.
Mourinho was sacked in the week leading up to the Carabao Cup final last month, which was surprising given his record in finals, but Tottenham will benefit from his appointment having been placed on gardening leave following his departure, which means the club will stop paying his wages once he begins work in Rome next term.
Spurs were going to pay around £15million in compensation, but that will no longer be the case.
We’ve been looking at how the Tottenham faithful have been reacting on Twitter to the news of his appointment as Roma boss.
i’m sorry roma fans you’ll get through this tough period

Was he on gardening leave or sack with compensation…. if he was sacked levy will be kicking him self now as potential the payout would have been a whole lot less
