Jose Mourinho is planning a shock move for midfielders Eric Dier and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, according to Gazetta dello Sport.

The Portuguese made a swift return to management when he was confirmed as the head coach of Roma on Tuesday.

But whilst Mourinho isn’t set to begin work in the Italian capital until next season, he’s wasting no time in identifying his transfer targets – with Dier and Hojbjerg two players that he’s keen on bringing to the Stadio Olimpico.

Mourinho has always rated Dier, and after failing to sign him when Man United manager, used his regular during his tenure in north London.

Meanwhile, the Danish midfielder was his first signing last summer, with Hojbjerg playing more matches than any other Tottenham player this term (49).

But whilst Mourinho is clearly keen on both, we’d be very surprised to see either make the switch to Serie A and join him at Roma next season, especially Hojbjerg, who only signed a new long-term contract eight months ago.
