Heung Min Son has been named in the PFA Premier League Team of the Year for the first time in his career.

The South Korean managed 17 Premier League goals, his best tally since joining Tottenham six years ago, and chipped in with 10 assists.

Son was joined by Harry Kane, who won both the Golden Boot and Play Maker having contributed 37 goals in 35 appearances, two of which came on the final-day at Leicester to secure a place in Europe.

It was the fifth time that Kane has been named in the team, but first since 2017-2018.

However, despite topping both the goals and assist charts, in what was an incredible year on a personal level, the England captain was robbed of the PFA Player of the Year award, with Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne claiming the accolade for the second season in succession ahead of his City teammate Ruben Dias following their title win.

  1. Unbelievable that a player who finished top of both goals and assists whilst playing for a poor side in the world’s toughest league is NOT POTY. Probably have to leave Spurs now to even win that !!!!
