Giovani Lo Celso was in action for Argentina on Thursday evening.
The midfielder was in the starting line-up against Venezuela, but his new Tottenham teammate Cristian Romero was not in the playing squad.
And Lo Celso played a key role in the visitors’ opening goal of a 3-1 win.
He slipped in, of all people, Lautaro Martinez to put Argentina ahead just before half-time.
Martinez was strongly linked with a move to Spurs in the summer, with The Times reporting that a fee had been agreed with Inter Milan – but a deal failed to materialise.
