Tottenham have enquired about the services of Porto winger Luis Diaz, according to Football.London.

The 25-year-old has been in outstanding form for the Portuguese leaders this term, scoring 14 goals, while laying on five assists in just 18 outings, making him the second top scorer in the division behind Benfica’s Darwin Nunez.

Diaz has also proved himself on the Champions League stage by scoring in both matches against AC Milan, which came 12 months after he netted an outstanding solo effort against Manchester City (see here).

Antonio Conte badly needs attacking reinforcements with only three natural wingers at his disposal, and one of those is injured in Heung Min Son, while Steven Bergwijn has been heavily linked with a return to Holland despite his brace against Leicester last Wednesday.

Therefore, Alasdair Gold believes that Fabio Paratici has made an enquiry to the player’s representatives. Meanwhile, Portuguese journalist Pedro Sepulveda believe that Tottenham have launched a €45m bid for the winger and have given Porto 48 hours to respond.

  1. Prediction – this gets agreed on deadline day but falls through last minute due to ownership issues a la moutinho all over again or dybala all over again.

Scepiticism aside though, what a signing he would be. Kessie, Traore, Amrabat and Diaz would be good january business (like as if that would ever happen).

  2. All this bollocks blah blah; most of it will come to nothing and Conte will walk.
Even if Traoré is concluded, Conte will realise what a Mickey Mouse club employs him.A deal for Traoré should have been concluded in 24/48hrs but with Levy it can take 2 to 3 weeks and still not be concluded.
Reminds you of when Levy went to buy a pint of milk and stood outside 2 supermarkets Unable to decide which one he should buy from…
