Rodrigo Bentancur celebrated his deadline day move to Tottenham by scoring his first international goal for Uruguay less than 48 hours later.
The midfielder became Antonio Conte’s second January signing when he made the switch from Juventus, but it was straight back to World Cup qualifying business for Bentancur last night.
And the 24-year-old opened the scoring with an excellent finish to set Uruguay on their way to three crucial points in their pursuit of a place at Qatar 2022.
