Norwich City youngster Max Aarons is on Tottenham’s radar, according to the London Evening Standard, but the Mirror claims Arsenal have entered the race to sign the defender.

Aarons, an 18-year-old right-back, has lit up the Championship with some fine displays for promotion-pushing Norwich this season, scoring two goals and providing three assists in 20 appearances.

The Standard suggests Aarons is among Spurs’ January targets, as is Hull City striker Jarrod Bowen, a name that has cropped up in a number of reports in recent days.

However, the Mirror believes Arsenal will attempt to steal a march on Tottenham’s move for Aarons, who is said to be valued at £15 million by Norwich.

Spurs are currently well-stocked at right-back with Kieran Trippier, Serge Aurier and Kyle Walker-Peters all battling for a starting spot in Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

Pochettino has an impressive track record with full-backs and young English players, so it makes sense for Tottenham to be interested in Aarons.

With him being just 18, he could re-join Norwich on loan for the remainder of the campaign if he does sign for Spurs this month.
