Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Juventus winger Douglas Costa, according to reports in Italy.

Earlier this week, we relayed reports claiming Juventus are considering triggering Toby Alderweireld’s £25 million release clause this summer.

Alderweireld, who scored an own goal against Liverpool on Sunday, recently extended his contract to the end of next season but can leave Spurs for £25 million before the final two weeks of the coming transfer window.

It is believed Juventus are interested in the Belgian, which could tempt Tottenham into suggesting some sort of exchange deal.

And according to Italian outlet Calcio Mercato, the Londoners are keen on Costa, who has struggled with injuries this term and missed an early spell in the campaign through suspension for spitting at an opponent.

The Brazilian remains highly-rated despite scoring just once in 24 appearances across all competitions this season.

Spurs already have a similar player in their squad in Lucas Moura, so it’s unlikely Mauricio Pochettino will back a move for Costa unless Moura or another attacker leaves.
