With Carlo Cudicini already signed, sealed and almost delivered to the USA, Spurs may be set to lose another goalkeeper in this window. Reports are emerging linking Heurelho Gomes with a move out of the club and some big name sides are thought to be monitoring the situation.

About a year ago, Gomes was supposedly a target for Queens Park Rangers but with Rob Green and Julio Cesar battling for the keeper’s slot, some new names have emerged and they include Serie A giants AC Milan.

Heurelho is still only 31 and supposedly coming into his prime so maybe it’s no surprise that some bigger named clubs are being mentioned.

Elsewhere, it’s been claimed that David Bentley could be set to return to Blackburn by the end of this month so this could be a positive January in terms of transfers away from the club.

Gomes’ departure is maybe the most questionable: AVB has already used three keepers as part of his rotation policy this season and with Carlo and Heurelho out of the club, would it leave us a little too thin between the posts?

  1. Lloris as number one, Brad as an elderly number two, don’t know how much longer he will go on. We need a young back up keeper, but if he’s any good, he won’t want to play second fiddle to Lloris who could and should be our number one for the next ten years. Jack Buckland has already said that he won’t move away from his current club just to be an understudy.

  2. I suspect Gomes’ relationship with the club has got to the point where there’s no way back for him. Something odd has happened or surely we’d have seen something of him this season.

  3. Gomes needs to leave to get a game.
Is Bentley still in Russia or is he back with us?
    What about Jenas?
Getting rid of those 3 should free up like £100k+ p/w

  4. I dont think its a anything ‘odd’. Cudicini, Friedel and Lloris are all better.

2 keepers is plenty for the next 5 months!.. I think this is now 1 area we can forget about for awhile.

If we do actually manage to ship out Gomez Bentley,…And JJ somewhere too!… Without too much respect, I don’t care where these 3 go, but if they all went this window, that would be a bl**dy good start ahead of the next summer window..
Next Year – AVB’s first full season in charge
This is the time when IMO we will actually try to sign this mythical striker and at least 1 other player in the front 3/string pulling role which we DO need this year but WONT get,.

We have needed to sort out our bloated squad for a while and that is as imprtant as signing the 2 above mentioned positions as 1 wont happen without the other unless there just happens to be a sh*t load of oil under white hart lane!! 🙁 – Keep ur chins up! COYS 🙂
