Nabil Bentaleb was left out from Tottenham’s starting lineup to face Borussia Dortmund, with Mauricio Pochettino instead opting to pair Tom Carroll and Ryan Mason, despite their obvious unsuitability to the task.
You have to wonder if Bentaleb has a future at the club and if Spurs sign another midfielder to put him further down the pecking order, it could spell the end for the Algerian.
One such player who could force him out is Anderlecht’s Youri Tielemans, who has been linked with a £20m move to White Hart Lane.
The 18-year old has already made over 100 appearances for the Belgian giants and is on the radar of some of Europe’s biggest clubs.

I don’t think Poch likes Bentaleb much. He’s pretty much been a peripheral figure since he disobeyed him and went and played in the AFCON, but the least he could do is give him a couple of games to put him in the shop window. We needed someone like him in the Dortmund game, Mason and Carroll offered NO protection to the back 4 whatsoever and that made the whole team look weak.
