Spurs have been linked to a number of strikers already this summer and rumours suggest that the club may be getting closer to signing a forward, while another target moves elsewhere.

Kicker have reported that the Swiss teenage sensation Breel Embolo is close to a move to the German side RB Leipzig.

Embolo has been linked in recent weeks, after Tottenham’s supposed top target Michy Batshuayi claimed that he will not make a move this side of Euro 2016. However, reports from Belgium now claim that Spurs could be close to completing a move for the Marseille striker.

Batshuayi is said to want Champions League football which a move to Spurs would provide. The stumbling block could be the fee, with Marseille reportedly looking for £31.2m.

What seems definite is that Tottenham are anxious to avoid the scenario of last summer when they concentrated on the signing of Saido Berahino and seemingly had no alternatives when that deal fell through.

  1. Batshuayi certainly looks the more impressive. Maybe Marseille agreed to an add-on to the transfer fee if Batshuayi hits certain milestones that they will then rise to 31 million.

  2. I think he’s is a good striker but I can’t see chemistry between him and Kane they seem very aliker both target me plus I think we line up better with one striker so I hope he doesn’t mind playing second fiddle to Kane
