Our recent signing of Brad Friedel has had me reminiscing about our former American goalkeeper Kasey Keller, who made a total of 99 appearances for the club between 2001 and 2005.
Now 41, Keller is these days playing in his native United States with the Seattle Sounders. This week he conceded a wondergoal by Eric Hassli of the Vancouver Whitecaps and the despairing look on the face of Keller will be familiar with anyone who saw him suffer at the hands of our kamikaze defending during the early part of the century.
Wow… what a finish! Keller should have done better 😉
I can say without hesitation that that goal is almost certainly the best goal in the history of MLS. Wow.
I haven’t seen it (restriction od sites at work) but it must have been effing amazing to beat a goalkeeper of Keller’s ilk.
