Today In Spurs History: 5th May

1962 – On this day in 1962, Spurs took on Burnley in the FA Cup final. Jimmy Greaves gave us the lead and though Burnley equalised in the second half, we stormed back to win 3-1, with goals from Bobby Smith and Danny Blanchflower.

1994 – A relegation-threatened Tottenham side won 2-0 at Oldham’s Boundary Park, with goals from David Howells and Vinny Samways. No matter what the result tonight, we should keep in mind that it wasn’t so long ago that this was our idea of a crucial match.
